Forest&Life, Ecuador

Ishpingo is an NGO founded in 2005 whose mission is to improve the standard of living for indigenous populations of Ecuador by protecting natural ressources in the Amazon forest.

Ishpingo was born out of the passion and vision of two friends who are also forest engineers, Flore Moser and Antoine Vullien. They're joined locally by:

  • Benoit Magnin, agronomy engineer and secretary of the organization
  • Hugo Tanguila, agricultural specialist and head of the tree nurseries
  • Angel Alvarado, botanist and traditional medicine instructor at the high school

In France, three volunteers represent the NGO and take care of administrative and bookkeeping tasks:

Forest&Life, Peru

AIDER is a Peruvian environmental organization working for rural development and forest conservation since 1992.

AIDER comprises 100 people working in the field and in 4 offices in the country: Lima (Peruvian capital, administrative center), Madre de Dios (Southern Amazon region), Ucayali (Central Amazon region), and Piura (Northern Peru). Five key people help run AIDER:

Forest&Life, Togo

Friends of the Earth Togo is a Togolese affiliate of the international organization, involved in environmental protection and sustainable development. Its mission is to help human beings thrive where they live by protecting the environment. For over 20 years, Friends of the Earth Togo has been developing many different programs to improve local people's standard of living.

Friends of the Earth Togo includes 700 members and 10 employees. Those leading the organization include:

Graine de Forêt est le premier centre de découverte ludique et pédagogique, dédié à la forêt landaise. Ce parcours débute dans une maison à colombage du XVIII ème S et se prolonge en forêt le long d’un sentier d’interprétation, sentier qui se termine sur une pépinière où chacun sème une graine de pin maritime. Vidéos, maquettes dynamiques, expositions, jeux interactifs sont réunis pour découvrir les milieux et ses hôtes, les hommes qui la font vivre. 

Nicole Massonayeen charge de l'animation et de l'encadrement des enfants, raconte l’histoire de la forêt, sa gestion durable et ses dérivés industriels si souvent insoupçonnés.

Le projet est également soutenu par l'Inspection Académique des Landes, en partenariat avec l'Association des Maires des Landes. Philippe Vincent, Conseiller Pédagogique Développement Durable de l’Académie des Landes, coordonne la mise en oeuvre du projet au sein des écoles.
